Mid Night Code - Leg 7 Report: A Day of Highs and Lows
The second-last round of the 2024 Namibian National Karting Championship, held on Saturday, September 7, at the Swakopmund Karting Track, was a dramatic day filled with thrilling battles, resilience, and incredible performances from the Mid Night Code team. Despite several challenges, our drivers gave it their all, continuing to push the limits as they prepare for the final leg.
Nic Kruger – The Fastest, But Unlucky
Nic Kruger has been a formidable force throughout the championship, but Leg 7 tested his mettle like never before. Battling through illness, Nic’s day took another turn for the worse when a mechanical fault in Race 2 resulted in a DNF. Nevertheless, his incredible pace was evident as he clocked the fastest lap times of the day, a testament to his unwavering focus and skill. Even though the stars didn’t align for a win, Nic managed to finish 2nd overall, keeping him within striking distance of the championship lead. With one more leg to go, he remains determined to finish strong and fight for the title.
Gury Dos Santos – The Fighter with Raw Speed
Gury Dos Santos showcased blistering pace throughout the day, but technical misfortune struck in Race 1, dropping him to the back of the grid. However, Gury’s fighting spirit was on full display as he battled his way back, making up positions and showing why he's one to watch. Despite the setback, he finished 5th overall for the day, and with his raw speed, Gury is poised to bounce back for a strong finish in the final leg.
Ezequiel Dos Santos – The Champion in the Making
Ezequiel Dos Santos continued his impressive campaign, displaying unmatched consistency and race craft. His ability to stay calm under pressure and handle tight, competitive racing saw him emerge victorious at the end of the day. Ezequiel’s performance in Leg 7 further solidifies his position as a top contender for the overall championship, and with his focus and determination, he’s set to carry this momentum into the final showdown.
Luna Dos Santos – Steady Improvement
Luna Dos Santos once again showed steady progress, impressing the team with her consistent improvement in every race. Luna’s dedication to honing her skills is evident, and she has steadily climbed the ranks throughout the season. Her positive attitude and growing confidence around the paddock make her a key player for the team. With her continued development, Luna is undoubtedly a future star of the Mid Night Code team.
